Welcome! Whoever you are, wherever you come from, whatever has touched you in your spiritual journey, we are glad that you have found your way to our community.
The community of St. Thomas gathers weekly in the fellowship established by Jesus. On the night before he died, Jesus gathered with a motley group and gave thanks to God for God’s blessings. There at table, he asked his friends to continue to gather and, when they gave thanks, to thank God for Jesus’ gift of himself to them. God’s love was in him and had come to them through him. He promised that in their gathering and thanksgiving he would be with them.
We are a community born out of the experience of that promise. We are here on account of the love of Jesus’ fellowship, and we rejoice in the opportunity to thank God for that love while we share it with one another. We have found that we have been welcomed here out of the sheer gratuity of God’s love, and we pray that we might be equally gracious to all who come through our doors. We are grateful that you have found your way to us, and we invite you to allow us to share ourselves with you, and we hope that you will share yourself with us.
Our life together revolves around our fellowship at Jesus’ table, where we are exquisitely aware of God’s presence to us. In our life, we strive to root ourselves more deeply into the love of God that we have found in Jesus, so that this love might blossom forth as a blessing to the world. In these pages, you will find testimony to our efforts at both rooting and blossoming.
We establish ourselves more firmly and deeply into the ground of God’s mystery through our collective life of prayer, study, and fellowship, and we support these endeavors through our work with Christian Formation, pastoral care, and community life. At the same time, we are clear that our community will wither if we do not provide opportunities for each of us to serve one another and the world around us, even as we have been served. Opportunities for service are found throughout the whole of our life.
If you wish to know more about our life around Jesus’ table, we hope that you will explore the pages of this site. If you wish to join us at table and share in that life, please come on Sunday mornings; we are happy to simply have you with us. When you are so moved, ask how you might participate in our many efforts at rooting and blossoming in the presence and love of God. That is the marvelous thing about the thanksgiving meal that we share together weekly—no matter how full the table, there is always room for more.
