THIS WEEK @ ST. THOMAS

Children/Families

Faith Formation for Children and Youth at St. Thomas’

One look at St. Thomas’ and you’ll clearly see our strong community commitment to helping our children and youth develop a deep relationship with and an engaging experience of a loving and very present God.   Every day, and Sunday, too, St. Thomas’s offers opportunities for all to grow as God’s whole, new family.

Sunday School

This year, our Sunday School Classes for children move toward Godly Play, a worship/learning experience where children are encouraged to be themselves, learn how Christians live in community and come closer to the mystery of God’s presence. Creative language is spoken in a sacred space where children are encouraged to wonder and discover.  All Children’s Faith Formation Classes begin at 10am.  Children join their families for worship at The Peace.

Our Pre-K and Kindergarden Class meets each Sunday in Room 3

Our 1st, 2nd and 3rd Grade Class meets in Room 2

And our 4th and 5th Grade Class meets in The Library

A 9am Sunday Youth Confirmation Class for 7th and 8th Graders began in September, leading toward Confirmation in 2013, and a Pilgrimage in 2014.

Sunday Morning Youth Discussion Forums are offered at 10am for Middle School and Senior High Youth.  On the table are Life Issues Discussions, Everyday Ethics, Bible Study and the Sacred Stories of fellow saints.

Middle School Youth meet in the EYC Room

Senior High meet in The Parlor

Early Episcopal Youth Community (EEYC)

The Early Episcopal Youth Community (EEYC) program allows the parish's 3rd through 5th graders the chance to meet and enjoy both service and social time tailored especially for their own age group. EEYC gatherings allow St. Thomas' younger members the chance to build relationships, as well as deepen their connection to the church during the important "tween" years. The group meets on the third Sunday afternoon of the month for games, discussion, service and Pizza! For more information, please contact Mary Beth Emerson at stthom1assistant@cox.net or Mollie Regan at mollieregan@verizon.net

St. Thomas’ Episcopal Youth Community activities for Youth in 6th through 12th Grades include Mission Trips, fun trips, Region 5 Service Opportunities, a Lock-In, movie nites, hanging out…and more.  Check our St. Thomas’ calendar.
